This Gold and Purple Short Ceremonial Korowai is perfect for graduations or other ceremonies where it provides the look of a korowai without the full length.
This korowai, or kahu huruhuru to be exact, is made by a Maori lady of Ngati Porou descent. It has a knitted purple taniko top, with gold feathers, then purple feathers. If you want different coloured feathers, let us know. You can choose different coloured feathers here.
The taniko has a patiki pattern. Pātiki (flounder) designs are based on the diamond shape of the flounder fish. The flounder is a symbol of favourable times, prosperity and good luck.
This korowai measures approximately 1m wide, and 20cm (8') deep. It is lined.
NB: If we are out of stock at the time you order, allow 2 weeks for it to be made.
Proudly Maori made in New Zealand, and shipped worldwide.
The korowai is also available in a deluxe black gift box - perfect if this is a presentation piece. The photo of the boxed short korowai is a representative photo, showing one of our other short korowai boxed.
