Yin Yang is an interesting Chinese concept. It basically consists of two opposing forces, yet these forces are complementary. The two forces are constantly moving and influencing each other, balancing each other out.
Yin has variously been described as passive, dark, female, watery, soft, slow, docile.
Yang has been described as active, generating heat, male, positive, bright.
Share a pounamu necklace with your own Yin or Yang, and store the two necklaces together in their specially carved rimu box.
Each necklace measures approximately 5cm (2') long, and hangs from a dark brown handplaited cord with adjustable knots.
They are made from serpentine greenstone, so have a patterned green appearance that reminds you of snake skin.
The stone comes from the West Coast of the South Island of New Zealand. The necklaces are carved in Northland, New Zealand.
